Mobile App Guide

Learn how to use the Mozaic Earth mobile app to collect data in the field.

Downloading the App​

Download the Mozaic Earth mobile app from:

Getting Started​

Logging In​

  1. Open the Mozaic Earth app
  2. Enter your email and password
  3. Or use single sign-on if configured by your organization

First Launch​

On first launch, you'll see:

  • Projects you're invited to
  • Projects you have access to
  • Your assigned tasks

Viewing Projects​

Project List​

  • See all projects you have access to
  • View project status and your role
  • Filter by active/completed projects

Project Details​

Tap on a project to see:

  • Project overview
  • Your assignments
  • Collection points
  • Progress statistics

Working with Assignments​

Viewing Assignments​

  1. Open a project
  2. Navigate to Assignments tab
  3. See all your assignments with:
    • Point count
    • Completion status
    • Due dates

Filtering by Assignment​

  • Filter collection points by assignment
  • Focus on specific assignments
  • Track progress per assignment

Collecting Data​

Viewing Collection Points​

  • Map View: See all points on a map
  • List View: Browse points in a list
  • Filter Options:
    • By assignment
    • By completion status
    • By habitat type
    • By distance
  1. Select a point from the map or list
  2. Tap "Navigate" to get directions
  3. Use GPS to find the exact location
  4. The app works offline for remote areas

Completing Points​

  1. Arrive at the collection point
  2. Tap the point to open collection form
  3. Follow the simple guides:
    • Take required photos
    • Fill in survey forms
    • Record GPS coordinates
    • Add notes if needed
  4. Mark as complete when done

Offline Functionality​

  • Download assignments before going to the field
  • Collect data without internet connection
  • Data syncs automatically when online
  • No data loss if connection is lost

Survey Forms​

Form Fields​

  • Required Fields: Must be completed (marked with *)
  • Optional Fields: Can be skipped
  • Guided Capture: Step-by-step instructions for photos

Photo Capture​

  • Take photos of vegetation and habitat
  • Guided image capture ensures consistency
  • Photos automatically geotagged
  • Can add multiple photos per point

Tips for Field Work​

  • Download First: Download assignments before heading to the field
  • Check GPS: Ensure GPS is enabled for accurate location
  • Save Progress: Data saves automatically, but you can manually save
  • Review Before Submit: Review your data before marking complete
  • Use Notes: Add notes for any observations or issues

Rewards and Missions​

Complete environmental missions to earn rewards:

  • Track your mission progress
  • See rewards for completing surveys
  • Contribute to conservation efforts

Troubleshooting​

App Won't Open​

  • Check internet connection
  • Restart the app
  • Update to latest version

Points Not Showing​

  • Refresh the project
  • Check your assignments
  • Verify you have access

GPS Issues​

  • Enable location services
  • Check GPS permissions
  • Move to open area for better signal
