Project Setup

Learn how to set up a new project in Mozaic Earth to start collecting and analyzing nature data.

Quick Start

If you're new to Mozaic Earth, start by creating a simple test project to familiarize yourself with the interface before setting up production projects.

Creating a New Project

  1. Navigate to the Projects section in Mozaic Earth
  2. Click the "New Project" button
  3. Fill in the project details:
    • Project Name: Enter a descriptive name for your project
    • Location: Specify the geographic area or site name
    • Project Type: Select the type of monitoring (e.g., Biodiversity Net Gain, Habitat Survey)
    • Start Date: Set when data collection begins

Project Configuration

After creating your project, configure the following settings:

Survey Forms

  • Define the data collection forms that will be used
  • Customize fields based on your monitoring requirements
  • Set required vs optional fields

User Permissions

  • Invite team members to the project
  • Assign roles (Admin, Ecologist, Field Staff)
  • Set access levels for different project areas

Geographic Boundaries

  • Upload or draw project boundaries
  • Define site extents
  • Set coordinate reference system
Coordinate Reference System

Make sure to set the correct coordinate reference system (CRS) for your project location. This ensures accurate mapping and data collection. Common CRS include WGS84 (EPSG:4326) for global projects and local CRS for regional work.
