3.3 - Plant Analysis
3.3 - Plant Analysis
Plant analysis focuses on species richness and abundance across 1-hectare plots defined in the sampling plan. Each 1 hectare plot contains a set of 15 quadrat images, each collected twice within the season, ideally with 1 month gap between each in order to capture early and late flowering plants.
3.3.1 - Labelling and Abundance
-
Select a plot: Click the specific 1 hectare plots you wish to work on from the survey list, and select the first survey period for this plot.
-
View Data: Once selected, all 15 checkpoints containing ground-truth quadrat data will appear on the map for each plot within that survey period.
-
Labelling: Use the labelling tools located in the bottom toolbar under each image to label the species you can identify across the quadrat images
- Efficiency Tip: You only need to identify and label each species once per checkpoint, even if it appears in multiple images at that location.
-
Track Progress: Once labelling for a checkpoint is finished, mark it as Complete and move to the remaining 15 checkpoints in the plot.
-
Finalise Plot: After all 15 checkpoints are labelled, mark the plot for that survey period as Complete.
-
Repeat: Repeat the process for the second survey period and for all remaining 1-hectare plots until the project is finished.
