2.0 - Data Collection Overview

This is where strategy meets the soil. This section focuses on the data collection process, using the Mozaic Earth Mobile App to collect ground truth data. Our goal is to make data collection seamless and scientifically robust, regardless of the field team's ecological experience.

In this section, we will cover:​

  • 2.1 - Before you go: downloading and setting up your account, and completing your pre-flight checklist.

  • 2.2 - Missions: utilising assigned or “open” missions to divide the workload between multiple collectors and prevent duplication of work.

  • 2.3 - Data Collection: navigating to pre-defined checkpoints using the app and completing guided tasks, and what to do if a checkpoint isn't safe to reach.

  • 2.4 - Data Upload: syncing your field data over a stable Wi-Fi connection, so all your evidence is ready for analysis in Mozaic OS.
